When you’re going on a trip, you should plan for some emergencies to happen. They probably won’t, but you should be prepared for anything to happen so that if something does happen, you can have the situation totally under control. Staying cool in a crazy situation is one of the most important things to do in an emergency! You can find our recommendations for what to include in your emergency kit below. Keep these items in a small box or bag that lives in your car, and if anything runs out or expires make sure you replace it as soon as possible!

 

  • First Aid kit. Some of the items to include are:

    • Band-Aids

    • Hand sanitizer.

    • Antiseptic.

    • Antibiotic ointment.

    • Bug spray.

    • Aspirin (or similar).

    • Cotton balls.

    • Gauze pads.

    • Tweezers.

    • Bandana.

    • Ace bandage.

  • Fire extinguisher.

    • Choose a small one that is easy to store.

  • Road flares (if not already in your tire-changing tools).

  • Jumper cables.

  • Rain ponchos.

  • Tarp.

  • Flashlight and extra batteries.

  • Rags.

  • Duct tape

  • Scent-free baby wipes.

  • Drinking water and non-perishable snacks.

  • Multipurpose tool.
