Ted Younger’s journey in the automotive industry began on the OEM side, where he gained invaluable experience working with Chrysler, Volkswagen, and later Toyota. These early years shaped not only his understanding of the business, but also his belief that long-term success comes from taking care of people. In 1976, Ted realized his lifelong dream of owning his own dealership, establishing a locally owned business grounded in trust, accountability, and customer satisfaction.

Growing up in the business, Brandon Younger learned these lessons firsthand. From an early age, he was immersed in every facet of dealership operations, guided by his father’s philosophy that customer satisfaction is not a department—it is a responsibility shared by everyone. Ted taught Brandon the importance of listening, building lasting relationships, and treating customers like family. These values became the foundation of Brandon’s leadership style and vision.

In 1988, Brandon officially joined the company when the business employed just 18 people. Honoring the principles his father instilled while embracing thoughtful growth, Brandon helped change the direction and trajectory of the organization. Under his leadership, the company expanded to include three additional stores and added the Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Volvo franchises—growth achieved without ever losing sight of the family-oriented culture that defined the business from the beginning.

Evidence is in the proof, as the Younger Auto Group, through its franchises, has won more than 47 customer satisfaction awards from its manufacturers, including Toyota’s President’s Award and Mercedes-Benz's Best of the Best.

Just as important as serving customers has been the Younger family’s unwavering commitment to the community. The Younger Auto Group firmly believes that locally owned businesses are the backbone of strong communities. While big-box and national corporations have steadily replaced small businesses over the years—often extracting profits without reinvesting locally— family-owned companies remain deeply connected to the people and neighborhoods they serve.

Over the past 12 years alone, Younger Auto Group has contributed more than $1 million to local charities, supporting organizations that strengthen families, provide essential services, and improve quality of life throughout the region.
